The Journey

My family just returned from a restful vacation at the beach.  We had the opportunity to visit the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Topsail Island, NC.  We were able to meet the patients up close and hear their stories. So you can understand why a sea turtle had to be the star of my tag. I loved making the "sand"!  I would like to enter this as my July tag in Tim Holtz's 12 tags of 2014 and also in Frilly and Funkie's Cool Water Challenge.

CC3C #6

I chose a personal focus for Tim Holtz's A Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #6 Altered Burlap Panel Technique found on page 37 and hosted by Linda Ledbetter.  I have been involved in Girl Scouting for most of life, both as a girl and as an adult sharing the experience with my daughters.  This latest challenge is generously sponsored by Linda Coughlin at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Everything is coming up...yellow.

I worked on a card today....I am not sure who it is for or what the occasion...but I wanted it to be yellow and  I wanted to use the Tim Holtz Honeycomb stencil.  Yellow because it is my favorite color and the honeycomb stencil because the I love the effect.  My end product is a yellow monochromatic simple card that allowed me to experiment with both layering stencils and the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Florals die.  I am entering this in the Country View Stencil It Challenge and the Frilly and Funky Summer Heat Challenge.

CC3C #5

Here is my entry in to the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge #5  hosted by Linda Ledbetter.  I created this card using the Distress Watercoloring  (Part 1) technique found on page 39 of Tim Holtz's A Compendium of Curiosities, Volume III.   Challenge #5 is generously sponsored  by Inspiration Emporium.

Thanks to Gina of Gina K. Designs, LLC for her tutorial on the gatefold card with a twist.
